Introduction of International Education College
At the leading of the Communist Party of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and the hard working leaders and staff members, the International Exchange Center was renamed the International Education College in 2004.The International Education College is in charge of foreign student education, foreign language training, international collaboration projects, administration of international travel to and from China, foreign affairs, etc. The International Education College has three departments, the Training Office, International Collaboration Office and the Foreign Affairs Office.
Recently, our university worked toward enhancing friendship with foreign countries, extending international collaboration, deepening scientific research information and achievements, and increasing the number of international professional members. Because of our unremitting endeavors, our university had established broad academic ties with some 30 universities in USA, Japan, Russia, UK, France, Canada and the Republic of Mongolia among other nations. We also have collaborative programs with foreign educational institutions. The university offers a program titled “joint program”, which signifies that the undergraduate student will study two or three years in China and two or one years abroad. Upon graduation, the student will be granted a degree from both China and the foreign country. The above mentioned collaborative programs shall have a positive impact upon the quality of education and research disciplines. The programs will lead to innovative development and training of our personnel as well as the international academic exchange of science and technology.
From 2000 to 2005, we have hosted approximately 500 foreigners and invited about 50 foreign experts to our university for symposiums, etc. We have completed just over 10 international collaboration programs, invited 22 foreign teachers, sent about 200 scholarship and independent teachers abroad, organized roughly 30 symposiums and processed around 500 applications.
This global internationalization gives our university more chances for development, but also give us many challenges. We will work hard for the university and believe that the university will become an international institution in the future.We must be graceful to state that friends' support, nationally and internationally, has helped us attain our achievements. We aspire that their interest and assistance will inspire us to accomplish our future development, to provide appropriate and prosperous opportunities for our students and staff.
