A General Introduction to the First Teaching and Research Section for
College English in the College of Foreign Languages

| As one of the four Teaching and Research Sections in the College of Foreign Languages Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, the First Teaching and Research Section for College English is made up of twenty-five teachers altogether, among which there are five Associate Professors, nine lecturers, eleven Associate Instructors, three graduate students, and three on-job postgraduates; and eleven of them graduated from Beihang University On-job Postgraduate Class. Among all the twenty-five members, there are also four minority teachers, and one teacher for Mongolian instruction. The First Teaching and Research Section for College English undertakes the college English courses of the whole school, including the students in Han Class, in Mongolia Class, Vocational Class and Continuation Education. The members in this section instruct the courses of College English (New Edition), Experiencing English, New Horizon College English and College Basic English, etc. The First Teaching and Research Section for College English, which has a strong teaching force, gives priority to teaching, improves the quality of teaching, lays great emphasis on the research of teaching, textbooks and pedagogy. The teachers in this section have published dozens of theses in recent years in all, compiled thirty-odd teaching material guidance, one of which was rewarded as excellent teaching material nationwide. This section also compiled a textbook for the “Eleventh Five-year Plan Program” from the Department of Agriculture, participated in and accomplished one of the projects for college English teaching reform, one project of the school, and undertook two teaching and research projects of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. |
